Introduction

I simply care about people. My business card contains my personal cell phone number and if you have a question at 10pm, call me - don't spend a sleepless night to think about "what if?", just call and most likely I'll answer right away. If it's too late, just text me. Communication is a problem of many people - but it is not an issue with me. If you need me - just let me know and I'll get right back with you, at midnight if you wish! I do not enjoy three things: suits, formalities and making us "look important". I enjoy the other three things: wearing jeans, t-shirts, and creating very relaxed atmosphere - because many people are already under stress, so why add to it? What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The vast majority of immigration cases and agreed divorces are the flat fees. Contested divorces and family law matters (e.g. custody, juvenile paternity, etc.) are almost always on billable basis (billed in 0.1 hour increments)

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We conduct a consultation, and once the client decides to hire our law firm, we will send out a contract, an intake, and a necessary questionnaire to get started. A list of requirement documents may also be provided, if applicable.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We work with all kinds of customers, and that's the fun part of my job! Everyone can strike an interesting conversation and everyone got a story. I got time, ears and heart - and that's why I love what I do.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I can think of three: a bankruptcy case of a person who was severely defrauded and swindled out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, which successfully completed, a contested divorce where the father, who was not paying child support and left a wife and three children behind, was swiftly introduced to the reality, and my favorite - immigration cases because I love calling a client and telling them: "Guess what I am holding in my hand? That would be your green card!"

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You cannot hire an attorney just by choosing price. Reviews, reviews, and once again, reviews. It will take you 10 minutes to google the review of the particular attorney/law firm, but it's well worth of your time because you need to be confident in your choice of attorney. If your choice is only dictated by the price, read this quote by John Ruskin: "It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
